“Hands of the Harvest” - print

“Hands of the Harvest” - print

"Hands of the Harvest": Weathered and worn, the hands in this black and white drawing tell a story of labor, resilience, and quiet dignity. Rendered in a blend of scribbles and realism, the rough textures and stark contrasts evoke the grit of manual work, while the absence of color strips the image down to its essence. Hands of the Harvest honors the unseen effort behind every yield, capturing strength not in perfection, but in persistence.

Inspiration story: This piece was inspired by the hands of my dad and grandpa, both lifelong farmers. Their hands have always facinated me: strong, rough, steady, capable, and marked by years of work. Even when freshly washed, there seems to be a permanent grit to them, as if the land has become part of them. "Hands of the Harvest" is my way of honoring that legacy, the strength, the unspoken pride, and the kind of work that leaves its mark not just on the skin but on the soul.
