"Silent Horizon": A solitary ship drifts across a vast expanse of muted blue, where sea and sky meet in quiet agreement. The scene is stripped of drama, unlike most of my artwork, only showcasing stillness and space. The horizon stretches endlessly, offering a sense of calm that feels both grounding and infinite. Silent Horizon captures the serenity of open water in daylight, where simplicity becomes a sanctuary and silence speaks volumes.
Inspiration story: During our honeymoon in Roatán, we found ourselves unexpectedly sick. While resting, I spent hours watching ships drift in and out from where they were anchored just off the beach. The sky and sea blended into soft, muted blues, and everything felt still. I remember feeling quiet, subdued: physically unwell, yet emotionally present. There was a calm beauty in that moment, even in the discomfort. Silent Horizon came from that memory. It’s unlike my usual work, as it has less contrast and less drama, but it holds a kind of peace I didn’t know I needed.
