“Stilled Motion” - print

"Stilled Motion" captures the fleeting grace of a hummingbird mid-flight. The composition of the bird is suspended in a moment that feels both powerful and impossibly delicate. Illuminated from behind, the bird’s wings blur with motion while light filters through its feathers, casting subtle neon glows across realistic tones. With its high-contrast palette and radiant energy, this piece explores the tension between movement and stillness, fragility and strength; like freezing a split second of wonder in time.

Inspiration story: While on our honeymoon in Roatan, Honduras, the amount of floral and the weather easily attracted all types of exotic birds. During our stay, hummingbirds often caught my attention floating right next to me exploring the blossoms and greenery. During a specific moment near sunset, the lighting hit the back of the hummingbird, creating the glow you see in this art piece. The delicate friend I met while on the island has stayed in my memory and now will forever exist.
